In the 1993, following a survey that suspected the hull had osmosis, an attempt was made to remove the epoxy by sandblasting. However the yard undertaking the work had difficulty and the hull had to be peeled. After peeling it was found that the underlying lay-up was in good condition despite the hull appearing to give a high moisture content. After several high pressure washes and exposure to drying conditions the moisture reading did reduce to less than one percent. ‘West system’ epoxy was applied, the final coatings containing a water inhibitor and copper granules to provide a degree of antifouling. Since then readings have remained relatively constant.

Broker's Comments
Finnsailers have a strong fan base. It's not surprising given the solid build and great accommodation. Only 3 owners, with its current owners since 1988. All the owners have used her for the purpose of her design, comfortable, safe, long passages.
Well maintained, but in need of a some "TLC" to bring her back to her shiney best,
This boat will need some TLC to bring her sparkle back however this is not a project and the basic boat is sound in every respect.
