Broker's Comments
The Curlew is developed from Rossiters well liked Pintail and is a true cruising boat, uninfluenced by rating rules. She is stiff , dry and sea-kindly. Her long centre keel and moderately heavy displacement give you dependable performance in a seaway and her tank tested hull form ensures good helm balance. Her bilge keels and shallow draft means you can use the less busy shallow and drying creeks and harbours.
She has an unusual and distinctive blend of superb shipwright's woodwork on a glassfibre hull which gives her real charm and the warmth and appeal of a traditional yacht. The woodwork is so designed as to minimise its maintenance.
The raised foredeck gives splendid wide side decks and a clear deck forward, excellent both for working ship and for sun bathing.
It also gives a wonderful sense of space down below, where there are five berths. The main cabin has a double and a single berth, with lockers behind upholstered backrests; a well laid out galley with properly thought out stowage and a fixed chart table.
The high quality of the outside woodwork is repeated down below, with solid mahogany joinery nicely balanced by white enamelled bulkheads and panels. Lining covers just about all the glassfibre. Wooden handrails running the length of the cabin add the finishing touch.
